DJ Marcelle returns to Ormside for our penultimate party of the year, framed with a constellation of artists held close to our hearts: Cliché Toupee (Live), SUUTOO, and sinny. Each arrives as a storyteller in their own right – their practices stretching beyond the bounds of DJing itself, inspiring an investment in not just what they play, but who they are. DJ Marcelle is an anomaly whose unbelievable sets have amassed a cult following from across the divisions, dissolving subcultural boundaries with music that both propels and perplexes. In her regular radio broadcasts, Marcelle unveils selections from her colossal archive of singular dubplates and rarefied records: the audible harvest of a life committed to listening and collecting. We are thrilled to have her back at Ormside for an extended set this Saturday. Multidisciplinary artist and performer SUUTOO resists categorisation, maintaining a practice that is as uncompromising as it is multifaceted. Establishing the body as a site for mythmaking, movement as ritual and dance music as sacrament, she draws upon club-culture aesthetics to cultivate a process of continual becoming. This Saturday, SUUTOO closes the night with one of her fiercely physical, characteristically unpredictable DJ sets. Long-time Ormside kin Cliché Toupee joins the lineup with one of her powerfully hypnotic live performances. Guided by an affinity for decay’s quiet beauty, her drone-based, slowly unspooling compositions settle seamlessly into South Bermondsey’s post-industrial milieu, drawing luscious harmony from layers of dissonance. Following his celebrated DJ set supporting DJ Marcelle earlier in 2025, sinny returns to offer another of his richly layered, textural sonic collages. Grounded in sounds that resonate both through the body and through his own personal history, his work assembles immersive narratives that trace temporal arcs and often make reference to contemporary and classic Arabic musical lineages
