Free Fridays hit different especially when the lineup’s this good. On December 5th, we welcome Pat Lok to CARGO a producer and DJ whose sound bridges R&B, soul, disco, and house into something equal parts timeless and cutting-edge. Since his 2017 debut, he’s amassed over 80 million streams and delivered remixes for Duke Dumont, SG Lewis, Dillon Francis, and Martin Garrix. With residencies in Chicago and Seoul and festival appearances at Electric Forest, Splash House, and Hangout Fest, Lok has become known for sets that balance groove, texture, and emotion the mark of a true craftsman behind the decks. December 5th he takes over CARGO celebrating the release of Spectrum his new collaboration with Berlin-based artist Megan Vice on Brooklyn’s own toucan sounds. The two-track EP channels empowerment and self-expression, addressing mental health at a moment when women are reclaiming their narratives and refusing to stay silent. The title track pairs Lok’s smooth, soulful production with Vice’s commanding rap vocals, while Waste My Time hits with a grungy, punk-tinged energy a defiant double anthem already supported by Robert Owens, Jamie Jones, and Sam Divine. Opening the night in CARGO is KITA a Brooklyn-based producer and DJ whose background as both a breakdancer and classically trained pianist gives his sets a rare balance of rhythm and musicality. His sound bridges underground energy with a sense of emotional depth, fusing movement and melody into something distinctly his own. In New York, KITA’s quickly making his mark across rooms like Hearsay, Virgo, and Public Arts, and through communities such as Chetana, Misbehave, Somos, and Off The Record. Internationally, he’s brought his sound from sunrise sets at Anjunadeep Explorations in Albania to New Year’s Eve in Bali, from the playa at Burning Man to back-to-back sessions with The Organism. In the Foyer, Robert PM takes over from start to finish Brooklyn’s unstoppable force of artistry, production, and performance. Active in the city’s creative underground since the late 2000s, Robert first broke onto the scene with his brother as French Horn Rebellion, the “delightfully bizarre” (Vice) indie-dance duo whose infectious sound earned hundreds of millions of streams, a GRAMMY shortlist for Electronic Album of the Year, and official remixes for Beyoncé, Sia, and Two Door Cinema Club, not to mention production credits on MGMT’s debut Time To Pretend EP. Today, Robert stands at the heart of New York’s alternative house movement as the founder of toucan sounds, the Brooklyn label nominated by DJ Mag as 2023’s Breakthrough Label of the Year. Through it, he’s championed and collaborated with artists like Purple Disco Machine, The Knocks, musclecars, Dee Diggs, and Felipe Gordon, solidifying his place as both a tastemaker and a bridge between the underground and the global stage. First Fridays Free! All you have to do is RSVP. Venue opens at 5PM | Happy Hour 5–8PM | Music at 9PM
