To connect with the community further: https://www.facebook.com/dcburners Or https://www.facebook.com/groups/dcburners ———— What is Decompression? Decompression is an event where folks who are “burners,” i.e. Burning Man event participants are able to socialize, bring art, perform, collaborate, and share the vibrant energy with one another in a way that is more specific to the local community. This is especially the case because Burning Man and many of the Burning Man Regional events occur in places where participants come from far and wide. These more localized celebrations of the burner culture help foster community in a meaningful and more year-round way. This space is special because many of these art pieces, spaces, and performances have debuted in Black Rock City and at other Regional events, and now get to be experienced and appreciated for their magic all over again “off-playa” as we join together right in the middle of DC! Can I go to Decompression even if I have never been to another burn before? Absolutely! Decompression is an incredible way to meet some cool burners, see some awe-inspiring art, and get engaged. You’ll meet folks and see a little of what the culture and community is all about. Hopefully you’ll come away from it feeling like you are now part of the burnersphere and ready for more! Can anyone bring art? I thought you’d never ask! Yes, absolutely we want everyone to feel welcomed to bring their art, music, spaces, and performances to share with the community in this collaborative space.
