Her videos playing asalato turned her into a worldwide reference on the instrument, a teacher and a pioneer. She also developed her own musical notation system for the instrument with symbols called ‘Método das Esferas’ (Sphere Method). Her first album ‘Crônica’ (2022) was self-produced and recorded in her room. On her new EP ‘Reverbero’ (2025), Mari went viral with her original song ‘Bote no Lugar’. ABOUT BORGES MACHADO Borges Machado is an experimental duo consisting of André Borges and Fernando Machado that explores improvisation and field recordings. Their debut album, Building Sites, released in the summer of 2020, features sound art pieces inspired by urban soundscapes, reflecting their approach of discovering and recording environments in the field, interacting with them, and building a dialogue through free improvisation. The duo’s performances take an interdisciplinary approach, integrating visual arts, movement, and music to create immersive sensory experiences.
