Lars Huismann is a drummer first. Fifteen years in jazz and progressive metal bands gave the Berlin producer a feel for rhythm that runs under everything he makes: syncopation, tension and release, groove built with a kit player's hands. Since 2011 he's moved from dub techno into darker, harder, more physical territory, mapped across the "Sounds From The Past" trilogy on Mutual Rytm and driven home on Dax J's Monnom Black, where his "Mechanized" EP rebuilds tribal techno from 909 hits and hand-drum syncopation. The goal never changes: tension, darkness, hypnosis, a floor pulled into a trance with no melody to lean on. He's proven it on the rooms that set the standard, Tresor and Berghain among them, and brings the same pressure to The Nest. Roman, Vixxenia, and BENITEZ on support.
