Since discovering electronic music via online communities as a teenager, gyrofield has followed curiosity and inspiration into disparate musical territory, exploring the realms of drum and bass, techno, ambient, pop and free jazz, bending recognized genres into bold new forms. Fueled by an unrelenting drive to push boundaries, their digital productions become moody and introspective through IDM experimentation, jungle breakbeats, melodic synths and chopped vocal samples – as showcased on recent releases with XL and FABRICLIVE. CARRIER: Carrier is Guy Brewer’s outlet for pressure, space, and restraint, a project that privileges atmosphere over genre rules.
