With one half of the duo based in Los Angeles (Cole Trejo), and the other in New York (Nate DeGroff), Friend of Honor uses their long distance relationship to their advantage, going coast to coast for events and sharing their sound with crowds in both cities. Trejo and DeGroff are advocates for authentic dance music and true club culture. From a musical standpoint, the duo has been making strides within the afro house community as they continue to collaborate and receive support from respected artists within the genre. But don’t rush to any conclusions, Friend of Honor is known for the wide range of tracks they play during their sets. While the name Friend of Honor is a testament to the duo’s strong friendship, it is also an appreciation for the friends who support them and a representation of their hope to build a community of new friends through their project.
