From his love for dance parties to the likes of Prince and Michael Jackson as a child, to his dedication to learning his favorite pop songs on the piano in elementary school, to his successes making soundcloud mixes in highschool, McBride has always been fond of a good groove. But it was not until he lived in Miami in 2021 that he really found his calling as a musician. Exposed to the world of clubs and festivals in Miami, McBride discovered the direction in which he would point his productions. Having explored various sub-genres of house music over the past few years, he has diversified his taste and developed a distinct style rooted in deep and afro house. His own music and DJ sets, full of the vitality inspired by these genres, can be characterized by a coming together of beautiful natural sounds and vibrant otherworldly synths. In the Summer of 2023, Henry joined up with the like-minded producers of Suite 52 to form the Violet Music Collective, a label and collaborative space that will facilitate the sharing of their musical vision. As an individual artist and as a part of this forward-thinking collective, Henry McBride is looking to make waves in dance music—the world that shaped him to be the musician and person he is today.
