KTYB, born in 1992 in Kabbaria, an outlying district of Tunis, grew up in a rich musical environment thanks to his music-loving father, who was passionate about reggae, funk and soul. From the age of 12, he discovered hip-hop with artists such as Talib Kweli and Mos Def, influenced by his friend Radhouan Feddini, a pioneer of the Tunisian alternative scene. In 2008, aged just 16, he made a name for himself with his freestyles and sharp rhymes. His duo with Vipa, formed in 2010, is a big hit in Tunisia. Together, they combine rap, humor and a unique complicity, and take part in hip-hop workshops after the revolution to broaden the alternative scene. In 2014, KTYB collaborates with producer Zinga and other musicians in jam sessions in France. In 2015, he launched"l'Afghan Project" with Zinga, an experimental electronic music project, with the Nuff Violence EP. Since 2017, he has been evolving solo under the name KTYB, adopting a cloud rap, or trillwave, style, with tracks like"About" and"Thought1", which mark a new era in his career. In 2022, he released his last album, Noise Cancelling.
