Sobre

Leif Haaland grew up amongst hippie-missionaries in Canada and on a rain-soaked gravel pitch in Bergen. He toured with his father’s gospel choir as a 5 year old, was a drummer in the church at 7, traveled around Europe with analogue camera equipment in his teens, and discovered Ingvar Ambjørnsen, Orhan Pamuk and the Berlin techno scene in his 20s. All of this and more has contributed to forming Leif and the music he now makes. Leif had immediate success with the band Leif & The Future and was playlisted on NRK P3 with the song “Let You Go” in 2011, making it to the Urørt final with Team Me and Kvelertak. The year after the album “Songs of Youth” was released and was awarded 5/6 in Dagbladet amongst many other positive reviews. The last 2 years he has been working on a new album together with the Swedish producer Korallreven (a former member of The Radio Dept.) and Bjarne Stensli (Sivert Høyem, Serena Maneesh, Harrys Gym). The Oslo/Berlin based artist launched his solo project LEIF in October 2015, and released a couple of well received singles in autumn/winter 2015/16. The debut single Boys Who Want Love was immediately listed on Norwegian national radio (NRK P13) and remained on the list for over half a year. The same track was accompanied by a limited edition book which contains exclusive literary and visual remixes from authors and artists. The singles lead up to an Album release in spring 2017 on the Norwegian label Popklubb.
