Paris based DJ, producer, instrumentalist and model, MELANIN is currently a resident at Oroko Radio an independent radio based in Accra, Ghana. Being both Senegalese and French-Algerian mixed, MELANIN uses music to help form different understandings of her cultural and musical identity. MELANIN was based in Seoul, South Korea (2018-2020). She has toured in Asia : China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, has co-hosted a series of events in Seoul and with Seoul Community Radio but also in Europe : Berlin, Oslo, Paris, London and Spain. Listen to her mixes on NTS, HÖR Berlin, Block FM Japan, N10.As, Noods Radio, Threads Radio, Source Radio and get a glitch of reggaeton, kuduro, amapiano, dub, Nigerian funk, Malian kora, meeting with paradoxal breakbeat, jungle and ghetto-techno sounds. MELANIN is paving her own way to the French electronic music scene, with 'MATAM DREAM' her upcoming EP for a blend of flute, ngoni, synthesizers, vocals and triphop/drum and bass.
