Ponkan is the project of the brazilian DJ and producer, Gustavo Baida, releasing his first EP with Gop Tun Records. Always motivated by a radical curiosity and fascinated by the feeling of discovery, in his debut EP Ponkan explores a feeling that has moved him for a long time, Nostalgia, as well as the fundamental relationship that music has with this feeling. With his first contact with electronic music being the OST for low-poly era videogames of the 1990s, and with later influences such as synthwave, italo-disco as well as house and techno-pop japanese producers, Ponkan tries to elaborate and revamp the bittersweet nostalgic feeling that resides in these influences, mixing it with dancing beats and rhythms, not only being inspired by his influences, but always transforming them.
