Michele Bry (b.2000) is a French visual artist and musician based in Paris. For over a year now, Michele Bry has allowed us to open tiny windows on her musical world. Behind pastel vignettes of bunnies, shopping trays and telephones lie miniature twee pop songs written, composed and arranged by Michele in her East Paris bedroom. It’s a world of take-aways in fish-eye vision - Krispy Kremeand Starbuck’s lattes. <a href="spotify:track:7tfS5UpXWxneMnm60HNo6I" data-name="two rabbits one hat">two rabbits one hat</a> is a literal glimpse into her girlhood - as Michele enumerates the content of her bag. With only “a gloss and a pen, two rabbits and a hat, a few dollars from the night before”, she hits the yellow brick road, leaving her small-town France for bright lights, big city. Joining her for a leap to the other side of the mirror is irresistible, the one lying behind the deformed reflections Jeff Koon’s rabbits and puppies cast of our grinning selves, strolling through Downtown’s white cubes.
