Merging ethereal with raw and unfiltered vocals, Saint Avangeline crafts a striking contrast that mirrors the depths of human emotion. Deeply rooted in her journey with mental health, domestic abuse, and growing up queer, her songs offer an honest exploration of inner turmoil, rage, hope, and resilience. Growing up with her head either in a sketchbook or performing in various orchestras, jazz bands, and marching band, combined with her unique sound-to-color synesthesia known as Chromesthesia, Avangeline focuses on writing and creating from a color palette. Music is like painting, and every sound is a different texture, color, and form. She also often listens to music in languages she doesn&#39;t understand, are completely made up or distorted, or that contain no words at all. She found that she could focus more deeply on the emotion embedded within the sound and she would often memorize entire orchestral scores and video game soundtracks as a child. Focusing on painting an image not only through words but through the very fiber of sound, her music strives to transcend the barriers of language and strike hearts in the way hers was.
