Amsterdam Techno Sessions is a weekly Techno event held every Thursday in Amsterdam. Local and international artists are invited to showcase their work and share their personal interpretations of Techno every week. This Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 — we're back at @clubjohndoe with another unforgettable Pride celebration! For this edition, we’re thrilled to welcome a true legend of hypnotic techno: DJ Surgeles. Hailing from the Netherlands, Kole Leijenn aka DJ Surgeles has been shaping the underground techno scene since 1998 with his signature futuristic sound—deeply influenced by Detroit’s spacey, high-concept techno. His musical journey began early, digging through his parents’ vinyl collection at just five years old. By eight, his sister introduced him to house music, and soon after he was spinning records on his first turntables. In 2005, a pivotal moment came when he handed a demo to techno pioneer Jeff Mills—who contacted him the next day. The result? A Surgeles remix of “The Bells” was released on Axis Records for its anniversary. This kicked off a longstanding relationship with Mills’ iconic label, where Surgeles went on to release five more albums, alongside cutting-edge work on his own U.F.F. Records. Warming things up and closing the night is our trusted resident Marco Ramos, setting the tone and keeping the energy high until sunrise. Doors open at 23:00, and we go full throttle until 7:00 AM.
