LINE UP :: John Barera & Will Martin Aaron Davis (Acid Camp) BYLD ABOUT THE ARTISTS :: JOHN BARERA & WILL MARTIN Queens/San Fransisco based DJs and producers John Barera & Will Martin are known for their sculptural, storytelling House & Techno productions and sets. The duo’s musical partnership grew out of a close friendship. The chemistry they have with production and behind the decks has been honed through years of working together. Their debut album on Dolly, “Graceless” followed up on the success of their track “Reality”, which found its way into the hands of Berlin's Steffi, and acted as a central gear in her Panorama 05 Mix. “Graceless” was well received upon its release in 2014. A series of tours and a string of EPs on labels like Argot, Basement Floor and Supply followed, further cementing their reputation. In the fall of 2017 they joined the 2MR label and released their second album called “Proceed to the Root”. The record contains finely crafted and no-nonsense club music where a tough Techno & House sound collides with soulful electronics and touches of Dub and Jungle. Each track on the LP was born under a different sign, this record was bottling moments across the course of many years. Around the time of the release the duo continued to play well received live and DJ sets at clubs around Europe and the US. In 2024 John & Will reunited on Planet 9 for a new track called “SF is Underwater” as part of John’s collaborative Forever Anyway album. They further collaborated in 2025 with bassist James Preston (Byld) for a track called “Stranded”. This was released on Sorry records, and features Will’s signature drum production style. In the summer of 2025, John & Will set up camp in Barbados to record their third album. The results were electrifying and invigorating, and the album is now in the mixing stage. -- BYLD sets playfully bounce between deep house and tech, prog, trance, minimal, new wave.... In the spring of 2025 BYLD (James Preston) released his first proper EP on Sorry Records co written and produced by John Barera under the moniker Underpass. The MA native turned New Yorker attended his first rave on Halloween 1999 has spent the last batch of years carefully crafting a sound which encapsulates his experience on the dancefloor over the last quarter century.
