Widely known as a co-founder of label Razor-N-Tape, J is also a highly respected producer, prolific remixer, and incendiary DJ. In a music career stretching 2 decades, JKriv has blazed an unconventional path through club world, beginning as a trained jazz musician and live performer before honing his studio and DJ skills. JKriv’s prolific production work has yielded scores of releases on Razor-N-Tape, Glitterbox, Soundway Records, Heist Recordings, Moton Records, Z Records, and many other labels. As a songwriter, arranger, collaborator, and studio musician, J has worked with luminary artists Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco feat. Kathy Sledge, Adi Oasis, John Morales, Dames Brown and many more. JKriv’s music has garnered support from all quarters of club and radio DJs, such as Gilles Peterson, Antal, Hunee, Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, Derrick Carter, Disclosure, Andrew Weatherall, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Craig Charles, and Jamz Supernova, among many others. In early 2025 J will release his Intuition EP on Razor-N-Tape which includes features from singers Megatronic and Pahua, and explores heavier club sounds, in line with the high energy DJ sets he has been delivering. He also has a huge stockpile of releases lined up for the year that includes edits and originals on recent DJ Mag label of year winner Make-A-Dance, an exclusive song on Quantic’s forthcoming DJ Kicks compilation, EPs on Rocksteady Disco, Star Creature, Universal Cave’s Soft Rock For Hard Times and more. 2024 was also huge year for J, with worldwide touring that included sets at renowned venues Hi (Ibiza) for Glitterbox, Heidegluhen (Berlin), Night Tales Loft (London) and Pike’s (Ibiza), tas well as hometown performances at Good Room, Gabriela, Nightmoves. J also showed a different side of his musical persona, with his electronic/ambient Within EP, a dub 7” under alias Kings of High Speed that has earned massive support from Gilles Peterson, as well as a steady stream of remix output on labels like Compost, Rebirth, Cracki and more. Recently named a resident on The Lot Radio, JKriv’s DJ sets showcase his deep and diverse taste, weaving eclectic disco, house, world grooves, and offbeat selections together seamlessly. J has also recently been a featured guests on NTS Radio, Openlab Ibiza, Balamii Radio and hosted his own regular “Living Sounds” show on Radio Alhara throughout lockdown. As co-founder of Brooklyn label Razor-N-Tape, JKriv has had a sizable impact on both the local NY and global dance music scenes. The label’s prolific and consistent quality output across 150+ releases over 12 years of operation has earned them eminent respect and support from club DJs, radio selectors and listeners around the world. ------------ From hip hop to hippie to straight up house head, Elliott’s life has always revolved around listening to, learning about, digging for and experiencing music. For nearly 15 years, that energy has been pumped into dance music starting in the blog house era and evolving from there to a more open-format style that defined his pre-pandemic BUTTER parties. Since the lockdown of 2020, his journey has led him deeper into the sound of the underground, drawing inspiration from legends like Honey Dijon, Kerri Chandler, Moodymann, and Classic Music Co. label co-founder Luke Solomon. This very journey has led him to collaborating with restaurateur & LOSO club creator Brandon Pearson since 2021, as well as opening for and sharing booths with the likes of DJ Minx, DJ Holographic, Kim Ann Foxman and HoneyLuv.
